Where Friends are Made

PLYC is a great place to meet people. If you are new to the area, socializing at the club can create lasting friendships. We make sure that all new members are welcomed, and feel like they’re among friends. If members ever need help, we are always there to provide it by helping with meals, transportation, or just someone to talk to. PLYC is well known throughout the community for our strong support for each other.

New Members Welcome

PLYC is an active boating and social club, and we’re always excited to welcome new members. While boating is a main feature of the club, owning a boat isn’t necessary to join. Many of our members are former boaters, and quite a few have never owned boats, but greatly enjoy all the social aspects we offer. Those with boats are generous in welcoming non-boaters aboard often on club cruises, or for short local sails.

PLYC is run completely by volunteer members who participate in a range of activities mostly centered around the Wreck Room. We also hold several functions during the year for which volunteers are needed. We’ve learned that many hands make very light work. It’s fun and another excellent way to meet people. We invite you to click the Join Now button below to find out more about PLYC membership.

Wreck Room

The Wreck Room, located near the Port Ludlow Marina, is the social heart of the club. The Wreck Room is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and for special events at other times. Guests are welcome to attend with members.

The Wreck Room has a full bar with light bites on Wednesdays, and catered or member-provided potluck dinners on Saturdays. Summers are especially popular with our large, outdoor deck overlooking the marina, Ludlow Bay, and the Olympic Mountains. We hold spontaneous special events when crabs are in season with members often catching and providing them, and also have delicious grill evenings with burgers and brats. It’s all good! To see a sample month’s events list, click the Sample Month’s Events List button below.

Members volunteer to serve as bartenders, and helpers to set up and clean up afterwards. Volunteering at the Wreck Room is not only lots of fun and very easy work, but helpers get to eat for free. We volunteer to help so the club runs smoothly and is fun for everyone. The Wreck Room is also available for special events. Please click the Facility Rental Request Form link below to find out more.

Women's Group

The PLYC Women’s Group was established in 2006. The group enjoys great camaraderie, welcoming new members, and creating lasting friendships. Since 2006, the Women’s Group has held fundraisers, and given back generously to the greater community via education programs and assistance, health-related programs for women, and providing a range of assistance to families in the area. All PLYC women are members of the group.
